Wednesday morning we delivered school notebooks to the Jain School in Old Delhi down by the wholesale bazaar.  It was a beautiful day so we decided to stop by the Red Fort and check out the five new museums down there.


The museums are housed in the old British barracks built after the 1857 Rebellion in the background to the left and focus on India's struggle for independence.  One of the five in a beautiful art museum.


In the late afternoon we met Patrizia Cerroni, an Italian modern dancer and her friend Sukrita Paul Kumar, a poet from Delhi, at the India International Center.  As we left for home, we were dazzled by this beautiful evening sky.  It was the clearest, we have seen since arriving here.


Thursday we celebrated Holi, the Indian spring festival, with the missionaries in the vacant lot beside the church compound.  Pictured above are senior Sisters Hansen, Peck and myself with the sisters.



Grant was a little reluctant at first but later joined the water fight with a vengeance.

    Wow! you two really get into celebrating these Indian festivals! We saw children spraying each other when we came home to our apartment complex that day, but were in the office all day. How did the colors wash out of your clothes?

Malviya Nagar Ward, Thursday Evening English Class, recently baptized husband and wife, Brother & Sister Massey, others are nonmembers; Grant & Elders Mills & Miles Indian National Airline (INA) Market.  Anil (mission president's driver) and Sister Hodges INA Market - Vegetables Eggs couldn't get any fresher! They have never heard of "free range chickens!"  Talk about a head bobble. And . . . they don't pluck but just skin the chicken right in front of you (taking off feathers and skin together) in these obviously FDA approved facilities.  Could it get any fresher? Fabric and sewing shop at INA Market Friday Sisters Peck and Hodges invited me to come along with them to INA (Indian National Airways)    Market where we found all sorts of fruits, vegetables, poultry, clothes, bedding, jewelry, you name it.    I found some bright dishcloths to make up into scripture bags for my Valiant Primary class.   ...
