Two weeks of much activity, but not many photographs!  Woman construction worker at Prya Market - carries the pan held in her hand balanced on her head (see wrapping on her head used to help balance the load)  with a load of sand or bricks.  Always so colorful even in the fields.  Saris rule.   Bengaluru Stake Center - Jeanette by a giant poinsettia.   A couple of pasty-white zombies with a wonderful family in Bengaluru - L-R Santosh, Hursts, Asha & Jonas Akula & their two children.   G raduation/Christmas party for Chin Refugees (from Myanmar) which we sponsored along with the Jesuit Refugee Service.   T hese people (primarily Christian refugees) are welcome neither in their country nor India.   The press has highlighted the plight of the Rohingas, also Myanmar refugees, while the Chin's story is basically untold.       Chin refugee lady and child.  Chin women in native dr...

Fewer photo opportunities this week but still stimulating and interesting.  Friday at Judah Hyam Synagogue with  Rabbi Malekar   Elder Mark Skidmore lighting the indoor menorah with Rabbi Malekar  Jeanette helping the children light the outdoor menorah Jeanette with Rabbi Malekar at the outdoor menorah  Rabbi Ezekiel Malekar beginning the lighting of the outdoor menorah   Sister Danna Hansen and Jeanette at the outdoor menorah. At the end of the service the Rabbi blessed the five children there.  To the boys he gave the traditional blessing,  “May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh” because, he explained, those two sons of Joseph remained true to the God of Israel even though they had been raised in Egypt.  So interesting! Week Ending December 2

Its been another busy, interesting week here in Delhi.  On Tuesday evening we met with our girls at the Udayan home in Mehrauli.     They are cute and pleasant and we are looking forward to having Family Home Evening with them on a regular basis. On Wednesday night Sister Nirmla Dass and her grandson Elias and I went to visit Aman and Vivek Kumar at their one room home.  The parents are on the left, Aman is standing and Vivek is kneeling between him and Nirmla.  The "mosi" or auntie is on the right.  A little neighbor boy came in and joined us.  He is sitting in the front on the left. Elias is next to him.  See the scripture bag on the wall! Here we are by the door with the kitchen behind us.  They fed us a delicious dinner of paneer with green peppers and puri, a fried bread.  It was excellent.  The family is delightful.  They were laughing and joking the whole evening.  The whole experience made m...
